Mumbai, June 29 (NationPress) NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, a fully owned subsidiary of NTPC Limited, announced on Sunday the successful commissioning of 220 MW Unit II of the Shajapur Solar Project located in Madhya Pradesh.
The company revealed that the final phase, which comprises a 120 MW capacity, has been completed, making the entire Unit II of the solar park now operational.
"We are pleased to inform you that following the successful commissioning, the final capacity of 120 MW out of the 220 MW Shajapur Solar Project (Unit-II) of NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, which is a subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited in Shajapur, Madhya Pradesh, has been declared to be in Commercial Operation effective from 00:00 Hrs. on 29.06.2025," the firm stated in its exchange filing.
This achievement follows the earlier commissioning of Unit I, which has a capacity of 105 MW and was finalized in March of this year.
With both units now operational, NTPC Renewable Energy has successfully added a total capacity of 325 MW from the Shajapur Solar Park to date.
The Shajapur Solar Project is part of an expansive initiative to develop 450 MW of grid-connected, ground-mounted solar photovoltaic power projects in the Shajapur district.
The entire project comprises three units. While Units I and II are completed, Unit III, which has a planned capacity of 125 MW, remains to be commissioned.
NTPC Renewable Energy’s shares are anticipated to attract attention on Monday following this commissioning update.
On Friday, the company's stock closed down, decreasing by Rs 0.76 or 0.71 percent to end at Rs 105.99 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE).
