Piyush Goyal Unveils CII's 'Ease of Doing Business' Portal

New Delhi, Nov 28 (NationPress) Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Thursday unveiled the CII Ease of Doing Business and Regulatory Affairs portal, designed to offer insights into India's business landscape and to collect and monitor suggestions for improvement.
The portal was introduced during the 2nd Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) – Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) national conference on Ease of Doing Business held here.
This platform aims to deliver updates and status reports on essential initiatives related to 'Ease of Doing Business' from both the government and the leading business chamber, CII. With a personalized member dashboard, users can monitor progress and submissions in real-time, promoting transparency, accountability, and timely resolutions of issues.
During the launch, Minister Goyal stated that the Union government is committed to cooperative federalism and is striving to improve conditions for businesses and citizens alike.
He urged industry participants and state governments to embrace innovative working methods, emphasizing that a shift in mindset and openness to new ideas can create a multiplier effect on business success.
The minister reiterated that the Government's National Single Window System (NSWS) serves as a guide for investors to find and apply for necessary approvals according to their business needs and requires contributions from the industry.
He added that for the initiative to thrive, industry must engage with the NSWS, acquire licenses through it, and provide feedback to the Centre regarding industrial land banks to enhance its effectiveness.
Referring to the Jan Vishwas 2.0 Bill, the Minister indicated that the Government is keen on decriminalizing an additional 300 laws. He called on CII to educate its members on the importance of adhering to the law's spirit and highlighted that exploiting legal loopholes for profit is harmful to both the economy and the Ease of Doing Business.
He pointed out that upgrading technology in government portals at both the State and Central levels is essential to enhance their agility, speed, and modernity. The Minister also addressed the need to combat misinformation and urged Indian corporations to identify problem areas and implement straightforward changes that could yield a nationwide impact.
The minister encouraged stakeholders present at the event to operate at three times the speed, work three times harder, and achieve three times more output to position India as the third-largest economy in the next three years.
Expanding on the theme of three, he highlighted that the collaboration of the Government, industry bodies, and stakeholders can lead to significant improvements in business and legal frameworks.
Stressing the importance of feedback for ongoing enhancements, he noted that the partnership between the Government and stakeholders will positively influence the 'Ease of Doing Business'. He urged participants to generate momentum for change, emphasizing that if the States, Centre, local authorities, and industry unite, India can achieve transformational results.
The Minister proposed that CII develop a concrete, time-bound action plan and collaborate with industries to commit to prioritizing Indian businesses for economic advancement. He expressed optimism that the industry body could act as a bridge between stakeholders and the Government to facilitate regulatory easing and business expansion.
