New Delhi, Oct 22 (NationPress) The Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, is set to embark on a visit to Germany starting October 23. During this trip, he is expected to engage with CEOs and influential industry leaders to enhance bilateral trade and investment, as confirmed by an official statement on Wednesday.

This visit to Berlin is a pivotal step towards fortifying India's connections with Germany, especially as we approach the 25th anniversary of the India-Germany Strategic Partnership in 2025, which underscores the profound, resilient, and enduring nature of the bilateral relationship.

According to the official statement, Goyal's schedule will include substantial interactions with senior government officials, industry leaders, and business associations from both nations.

Throughout his visit, Goyal will conduct high-level discussions with the German Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy, Katherina Reiche, and Dr. Levin Holle, who serves as the Economic and Financial Policy Advisor at the Federal Chancellery and Germany's G7 & G20 Sherpa.

The agenda will primarily focus on further enhancing the dynamic Indo-German economic partnership and exploring fresh opportunities for trade and investment cooperation.

Additionally, Goyal will meet with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Luxembourg, Xavier Bettel, to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral trade relations, including Luxembourg’s upcoming State Visit to India and significant regional and international issues.

As part of his itinerary, Goyal will also be a speaker at the third Berlin Global Dialogue (BGD) — an annual summit uniting leaders from business, government, and academia to discuss pivotal issues affecting the global economy.

The session will delve into how nations and businesses are adapting to a transforming global trade environment, pinpointing practical strategies to enhance market access and cultivate a new trading ecosystem aimed at fostering sustainable global growth.

A significant aspect of the visit will involve a series of one-on-one meetings with CEOs of prominent German corporations, including Schaeffler Group, Renk Vehicle Mobility Solutions, Herrenknecht AG, Infineon Technologies AG, Enertrag SE, and Mercedes-Benz Group AG.

Furthermore, the Minister will chair a roundtable discussion with the CEOs and leaders of German Mittelstand companies and engage with representatives from the Federation of German Industries (BDI) and the Asia-Pacific Association of German Business (APA).
