New Delhi, Oct 24 (NationPress) Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal engaged with numerous prominent CEOs and industry leaders during his visit to Berlin, sharing insights on enhancing innovation and collaboration in sectors such as automotive, semiconductors, renewable energy, and infrastructure.

Goyal's trip to Germany focuses on fortifying bilateral trade and investment.

He had a productive meeting with Ola Kallenius, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Group.

“We talked about the company’s operations in India and their growth plans, emphasizing the need for greater innovation and sustainable development in the Indian automotive sector,” the minister shared on the social media platform X.

Goyal also met with Jochen Hanebeck, CEO of Infineon Technologies AG, to discuss collaborative prospects in semiconductors and decarbonization efforts.

In his discussion with Michael Masur, CEO of the Vehicle Mobility Solutions Division at RENK GmbH, they explored investment opportunities in India’s defense sector as well as collaboration in engineering solutions, digital transformation, and intelligence.

“I met with Tobias Bischof-Niemz, a member of the Management Board of ENERTRAG. We explored potential collaborations in India's clean energy transition as we strive to exceed our sustainable development goals in the renewable energy sector,” Goyal stated.

During his exchange with Dr. Martin Herrenknecht, Founder and CEO of Herrenknecht AG, they discussed the company’s growth aspirations in India and their involvement in our rapidly evolving infrastructure sector through improved local operations and technological partnerships.

Goyal also engaged with Xavier Bettel, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Trade, and Cooperation of Luxembourg.

“We discussed ways to bolster trade relations between India and Luxembourg, leveraging existing strengths while uncovering new opportunities for mutual benefit to our populations and economies,” the minister noted.

In his meeting with Klaus Rosenfeld, CEO of Schaeffler AG, Goyal had an engaging dialogue about deepening partnerships across the automotive, AI, and advanced manufacturing sectors.

“We also deliberated on the vast growth potentials in India and strengthening the India-Germany alliance in innovation and industry,” Goyal remarked.
