At present, Rolls-Royce acquires high-precision parts and engine elements from various Indian suppliers for its civil aerospace, defense, and power systems divisions.
However, the company did not reveal the total value of these sourced items.
"India is rapidly emerging as a significant hub for global sourcing," stated Nicola Grady-Smith, Chief Transformation Officer at Rolls-Royce.
She added that "we aim to enhance our collaborations here to fuel our business growth and support India's 'Make in India for the world' initiative."
Over the years, Rolls-Royce has assisted Indian manufacturers in achieving international quality benchmarks.
Grady-Smith emphasized that the firm is now focused on fortifying relationships with both existing and new suppliers in India.
"We aspire to aid local manufacturers in developing the capacity to produce complex engine components for global markets," she remarked.
Rolls-Royce has established a robust network in India, comprising partnerships, a skilled workforce, and advanced engineering and digital capabilities.
The company has also been instrumental in transferring technology for the licensed production of engines within the defense sector.
Alex Zino, Executive Vice President for Business Development and Future Programs at Rolls-Royce Defence, noted that India is a vital element of the company’s long-term strategy.
"Strengthening the supply chain now will lay a solid foundation for future joint production ventures and assist India in becoming a self-sufficient defense powerhouse," he stated.
Rolls-Royce remains dedicated to supporting India's armed forces and is eager to collaborate on the development of advanced combat engine technologies.
Additionally, the company maintains a joint venture with Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL).
