New Delhi, March 25 (NationPress) On Wednesday, the government announced its commitment to ensuring the steady supply of LPG, petrol, and diesel, urging citizens to refrain from panic buying. Reports indicate that there are no shortages at LPG distribution centers or fuel stations. The distribution of domestic LPG cylinders is proceeding as usual, according to official updates.

The government has resumed a partial supply of commercial LPG, allowing for up to 20% allocation to consumers. Additionally, an extra 10% supply linked to PNG expansion reforms has been proposed.

All refineries are functioning at optimal capacity, maintaining sufficient inventories of crude oil, petrol, and diesel. Domestic production of LPG from refineries has been ramped up to meet local demand, as stated in an official briefing.

Citizens are encouraged to utilize digital platforms for LPG bookings and to avoid physically visiting distributors.

According to the Petroleum Ministry, the supply of LPG has been impacted due to ongoing geopolitical tensions. Citizens are advised to consider alternative fuels such as PNG and electric or induction cooktops, and to conserve energy in their daily activities.

All retail outlets are functioning normally across the nation. However, panic buying has occurred in some regions due to misinformation, leading to increased sales and overcrowding at retail locations. Nonetheless, there is an adequate supply of petrol and diesel at all fuel stations.

The government reiterated its appeal for the public to rely on official sources for information and to dismiss rumors.

Enforcement operations are underway across various states and union territories to prevent hoarding and illegal trading of LPG. Over 2,700 raids have been conducted, resulting in the seizure of approximately 2,000 cylinders in states like Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Telangana, and Chhattisgarh.

Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) oil marketing companies have conducted more than 1,700 surprise inspections at retail sites and LPG distributors nationwide. So far, over 650 First Information Reports (FIRs) have been filed, with 155 individuals detained.

Priority allocation continues with 100% supply for domestic PNG for cooking and CNG for vehicle fueling, while industrial and commercial consumers connected to the grid receive about 80% of their average consumption.

City Gas Distribution (CGD) companies have been instructed to prioritize PNG connections for commercial entities like restaurants, hotels, and canteens.

CGD firms, including IGL, MGL, GAIL Gas, and BPCL, are providing incentives for both domestic and commercial PNG connections.

An additional allocation of 48,000 KL of kerosene has been granted to all states and union territories, surpassing regular distributions. States have been asked to identify district-level distribution points.
