Guwahati, Feb 8 (NationPress) Tata Motors inaugurated its registered vehicle scrapping facility (RVSF) in this city on Saturday, designed to safely dismantle up to 15,000 end-of-life vehicles each year through sustainable and eco-friendly methods.
This facility, managed by Tata Motors' partner, Axom Platinum Scrappers, is proficient in scrapping both passenger and commercial vehicles across all brands.
This event signifies the opening of the seventh facility of its kind in the nation, following similar establishments in Jaipur, Bhubaneswar, Surat, Chandigarh, the Delhi-NCR region, and Pune.
State Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Jogen Mohan remarked, “The launch of this state-of-the-art vehicle recycling facility will generate significant employment opportunities and bolster the economic development of our state and communities.”
Moreover, it will facilitate the safe disposal of end-of-life vehicles, mitigate carbon emissions, and aid in promoting a healthier environment.
“I express my gratitude to Tata Motors for initiating these smart facilities in Assam,” he added.
Tata Motors has made a noteworthy advancement in promoting responsible vehicle scrapping in the area.
“Dedicated to the principles of a circular economy, we are implementing practices that foster sustainability. With our network of RVSFs across seven states, we can now dismantle over 100,000 end-of-life vehicles each year,” stated Girish Wagh, Executive Director of Tata Motors.
Each facility operates in a fully digital manner, ensuring all processes are seamless and paperless.
Equipped with both cell-type and line-type dismantling systems for commercial and passenger vehicles, there are specialized stations for the careful dismantling of various components, including tyres, batteries, fuel, oils, liquids, and gases, according to the manufacturer.
Every vehicle goes through a thorough documentation and dismantling procedure tailored to meet the responsible scrapping standards for passenger and commercial vehicles, guaranteeing the safe disposal of all components in accordance with the national vehicle scrappage policy.
