Mumbai, June 29 (NationPress) In a remarkable week for the stock market, nine of India's ten most valued companies collectively gained Rs 2.34 lakh crore in market capitalization, buoyed by strong market momentum.
The BSE benchmark index experienced a robust uptick of 1,650.73 points, translating to a 2 percent increase during the week.
Leading the charge was Bharti Airtel, which saw its market value surge by Rs 51,860.65 crore, bringing its total to Rs 11.56 lakh crore.
HDFC Bank also performed well, adding Rs 37,342.73 crore to reach a valuation of Rs 15.44 lakh crore. Meanwhile, Bajaj Finance enjoyed a rise of Rs 26,037.88 crore, pushing its market cap to Rs 5.88 lakh crore.
ICICI Bank experienced growth of Rs 24,649.73 crore, increasing its valuation to Rs 10.43 lakh crore. LIC also saw gains of Rs 13,250.87 crore, elevating its value to Rs 6.05 lakh crore.
State Bank of India (SBI) added Rs 8,389.15 crore, bringing its total to Rs 7.18 lakh crore, while TCS recorded a modest gain of Rs 3,183.91 crore, raising its valuation to Rs 12.45 lakh crore.
Hindustan Unilever saw a slight increase of Rs 293.7 crore, now valued at Rs 5.41 lakh crore. However, Infosys was the only company among the top ten to face a decline, with a drop of Rs 5,494.8 crore to Rs 6.68 lakh crore.
The rankings by market capitalization are led by HDFC Bank, TCS, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, SBI, Infosys, LIC, Bajaj Finance, and Hindustan Unilever.
In the previous week, six of India’s top ten firms saw their combined market capitalization rise by Rs 1.62 lakh crore, fueled by strong investor confidence in equity markets.
