Agartala, Dec 22 (NationPress) Chief Minister Manik Saha stated on Monday that the BJP-led government in Tripura is diligently focused on achieving the last-mile delivery of welfare initiatives, aiming to create a progressive and developed Tripura.
The Chief Minister made these remarks during the inauguration and handover ceremony of the Ramakrishna Mission–Rotary Mobile Dental Clinic at the Ramakrishna Mission, Viveknagar, Amtali, situated on the outskirts of the capital.
Saha, a qualified dental surgeon, indicated that multiple meetings of the high-level task force aimed at enhancing tourism in the Northeastern region have been conducted, with all assigned tasks completed within the stipulated time.
Discussing his responsibilities, the Chief Minister noted that Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region Jyotiraditya Scindia has given him additional duties pertaining to infrastructure development in the region, due to the Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma's commitment to state assembly elections.
“Every responsibility given to me is approached with utmost sincerity and accountability for the advancement of the North East,” he emphasized.
Saha also underscored the value of mental health, asserting that laughing and smiling can effectively alleviate stress and anxiety.
“In spite of numerous challenges, a dental college has been established in Tripura within just eight months. The aim of this mobile dental clinic aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of ensuring government services reach the last mile. Equipped with two dental chairs worth Rs 60 lakh, the clinic can serve around 10 staff members and will address dental and oral health issues,” he mentioned.
The Chief Minister further revealed that at the request of the Ramakrishna Mission, he has contacted its General Secretary, Swami Subhrananda Maharaj, advocating for the introduction of foreign language courses, alongside English, at the Ramakrishna Mission, Viveknagar center.
“We are delighted that the governing body of the Ramakrishna Mission has agreed to the proposal in principle. With divine blessings, all positive endeavors become achievable,” he added.
Criticizing opposition parties, Saha, who also manages the Health and Family Welfare portfolio, remarked that rather than engaging in constructive politics, they tend to seek faults and disseminate misinformation.
“They (opposition parties) attempt to tarnish our image, yet our focus remains on development and progress. The medical profession is noble and warrants respect. It is regrettable when they are unjustly targeted,” he stated.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the government's commitment to the welfare of the Janajati (tribal) community, noting that since 2014, consistent efforts have been made for their development, continuing under the current administration.
Attendees at the program included Swami Shubhakarananda Maharaj, Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission Viveknagar, Kiran Gitte, Industries and Commerce Secretary, and other distinguished guests.
