Washington, Dec 22, (NationPress) India’s economic growth and digital evolution are revolutionizing the nation at a speed that many external observers might not fully grasp, stated Atul Keshap, President of the US-India Business Council (USIBC), following a recent trip.

Keshap expressed that discussions with cabinet ministers, parliamentarians, experts, and business leaders provided him with “a clear sense of an India on the move.” He pointed to India’s 8.2% growth rate and the evident transformation in infrastructure.

“Wherever we traveled in India, we encountered astounding evidence of transformation,” he remarked in an interview with IANS.

He emphasized developments in highways, ports, airports, and digital governance. “A significant digital transformation is underway in India,” he remarked, noting the government’s capability to monitor cargo shipments nationwide in real time.

Keshap mentioned that India’s digital identity system has facilitated the swift delivery of public services, particularly during the pandemic.

“It assisted hundreds of millions of Indians during the pandemic by directly transferring food, cooking gas, and other essentials into individuals’ accounts,” he explained.

He also referenced legislative reforms, including changes to labor laws and the enactment of what he referred to as the Shanti Act to foster a renaissance in nuclear power.

“You could sense that India is galloping forward, and the government is not complacent,” he noted.

Reflecting on India’s transformation, Keshap remarked that perceptions have drastically changed since his childhood. “Today, India is racing ahead,” he stated, adding that the transformation of everyday life is “remarkable at this time.”

He noted that officials at various government levels are prioritizing ease and speed in business operations, as well as reforms aimed at attracting investment. “You can sense that the Indian framework is accelerating,” he stated.

Keshap highlighted that India acknowledges the necessity to tackle trade issues raised by the United States while striving for its goal of becoming a developed nation in the coming decades. “That dynamism is incredibly captivating,” he stated.
