New Delhi, July 27 (NationPress) The Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast inaugurated its inaugural showroom in India on Sunday in Surat, Gujarat, as part of its strategy to penetrate the expanding electric vehicle market in the nation.
This showroom will feature the company’s electric SUV models, VF 6 and VF 7, which will be presented as right-hand drive versions for the first time.
According to a statement from VinFast, "The vehicles will be assembled locally at VinFast's forthcoming factory in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, emphasizing the company’s long-term dedication to India as a strategic market and a future center for electric vehicle manufacturing."
VinFast aims to establish 35 dealerships across more than 27 cities in India by the end of the year. Vehicles will be produced at its new manufacturing site in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu.
Situated in the Piplod area of Surat, the showroom will display the brand’s upcoming premium electric SUVs – the VF 6 and VF 7 – for which pre-bookings commenced on July 15. Customers can reserve their vehicles either at the showroom or online via VinFastAuto.in with a fully refundable deposit of Rs 21,000, as stated.

The Vietnamese EV manufacturer has partnered with RoadGrid, myTVS, and Global Assure to deliver charging and after-sales services throughout India. Additionally, the company has collaborated with BatX Energies to advance battery recycling and develop a circular battery value chain, underscoring its commitment to sustainable innovation.
Earlier this month, Tesla, led by Elon Musk, introduced its Model Y in India, starting at Rs 59.89 lakh, with its first showroom located in Mumbai. Tesla will import the Model Y as a completely built unit (CBU) from its manufacturing plant in Shanghai, China.
