New Delhi, Jan 26 (NationPress) The Chairman of Zydus Lifesciences, Pankaj Patel, expressed his gratitude to the Government for awarding him the Padma Bhushan, stating that he is "extremely grateful for the recognition".
Pankaj Ramanbhai Patel, in his capacity as Chairman of Zydus Lifesciences Limited, has been honored with the Padma Bhushan, one of India's most prestigious civilian awards, by the Central Government.
"I wish to extend my heartfelt thanks to the Government of India for this significant honor and humbly embrace this recognition. My journey began over 70 years ago when my father embarked on his entrepreneurial path to contribute to nation-building and foster India's self-reliance in life sciences. This unwavering commitment to science, health, and innovation has always motivated me," stated Pankaj Patel in an official statement.
"I am privileged to work alongside 27,000 individuals at Zydus, all dedicated to advancing India's position as a leader in innovation through groundbreaking discoveries that address unmet healthcare demands. It is a profound honor to be part of these transformative times within the Indian Life Science Industry," he further remarked.
"We are making significant strides towards the future by integrating health, digital advancements, and technology. Innovations emerging from India will ensure critical access to affordable healthcare and empower individuals to lead healthier and more fulfilling lives," concluded Zydus Lifesciences Chairman Pankaj Patel.

On the eve of the 76th Republic Day, the Central Government announced the recipients of the esteemed Padma Awards, one of the highest civilian recognitions in India.
A total of 139 individuals have been acknowledged for their remarkable contributions across various sectors including art, social work, public affairs, science and engineering, trade and industry, medicine, literature and education, sports, civil services, and more.
These prestigious awards are presented by the President of India during ceremonial events at Rashtrapati Bhawan, usually organized around March or April each year.
For 2025, the President has sanctioned the distribution of 139 Padma Awards, which includes one duo case (counted as one award). The list comprises seven Padma Vibhushans, 19 Padma Bhushans, and 113 Padma Shris.
Among the honorees, 23 are women. The list also includes 10 individuals categorized as Foreigners, NRIs, PIOs, and OCIs, as well as 13 posthumous award recipients.
