Immediately after the announcement of the winners of the 71st National Awards on Wednesday, G V Prakash Kumar, who received the National Award for Best Music Direction (Songs) for the bilingual film Vaathi, expressed his gratitude on X, referring to the accolade as "a blessing for the second time." His first National Award was for Soorarai Pottru, directed by Sudha Kongara.
