Did Abhishek Banerjee Just Meet Kamal Hassan in Chennai?

Mumbai, June 16 (NationPress) Actor Abhishek Banerjee had an extraordinary meeting in Chennai with the iconic actor Kamal Hassan, who recently viewed “Stolen” and personally commended the team for their remarkable work in the film.

Abhishek expressed: “Growing up in Kalpakkam near Chennai, I was inspired by Kamal Hassan sir's films. He is a true legend and a continuous source of motivation for actors like myself.”

“Receiving his praise for Stolen feels surreal. This acknowledgment means everything to me, and I will hold onto this moment forever,” he added.

The Stolen team, which includes Abhishek, director Karan Tejpal, and producer Gaurav Dhingra, made a special trip to Chennai.

‘Stolen’ tells the gripping story of the abduction of a five-month-old child born to a struggling tribal woman. Witnessing this distressing incident, affluent brothers Gautam and Raman decide to assist her. As the investigation unfolds, it exposes various hidden dark facets of society.

The film enjoyed a successful international journey, premiering at the 80th Venice International Film Festival, receiving a special mention in Zurich, and attracting a full audience at the BFI London Film Festival.

Directed by Karan Tejpal and produced by Gaurav Dhingra of Jungle Book Studio, Stolen features Shubham and Mia Maelzer in significant roles.

Recently, Abhishek shared his dedication to fully embodying his character in each role, stating that he cannot deliver an authentic performance unless he feels a deep connection to the character.

He remarked: “When I first encountered the script for Stolen, I was captivated by the story and my character. However, I believed that certain creative elements required deeper analysis—particularly regarding the emotional development of the character.”

“I’m an actor who needs to completely immerse myself in the character I portray; without that intrinsic feeling, I cannot perform authentically,” he added.

Abhishek also shared that, while serving as an executive producer for Stolen, he initially faced creative disagreements with producer Gaurav Dhingra, which almost led him to withdraw from the project.

He expressed appreciation for the producer’s willingness to listen, highlighting its rarity in the industry.

“It wasn’t about egos; it was about optimizing the film's quality. I believe that great collaborations are forged through creative differences that foster honest dialogue, ultimately leading to outcomes even better than initially envisioned. I’m thankful to Gautam for going above and beyond to align our visions,” he concluded.

“That’s what gave me the courage to commit wholeheartedly to the film. Just two days later, we were shooting, and the rest is history.”
