Mumbai, Nov 2 (NationPress) Actress Adah Sharma unveiled the spiritual importance of Tulsi Vivah, a ceremonial event that symbolizes the sacred union of Tulsi Maa and Lord Vishnu.

In her recent post, the star of 'The Kerala Story' eloquently described the revered status of Tulsi leaves in various Hindu rituals. On Sunday, Adah shared a video where she elaborated on the tale and significance surrounding Tulsi Vivah. She narrated, “Today is the wedding of Tulsi Maa. Let me share why this day holds such significance. There was a virtuous woman named Vrinda who loved her husband, Raja Jalandhar, deeply. As a devoted follower, she worshipped Lord Vishnu daily and fasted for her husband's longevity. Because of Vrinda's unwavering faith, Raja Jalandhar acquired immense strength, making him invincible even to the deities. This worried the gods, prompting them to seek Lord Vishnu's assistance.”

“After much contemplation, Lord Vishnu enacted a divine play. He manifested as Raja Jalandhar and approached Vrinda, who mistook him for her husband. She welcomed him warmly, but soon after, her dharma was compromised. In the ensuing battle, Raja Jalandhar was ultimately defeated. As Vrinda's dharma faltered, she lost her protective power. Eventually, Lord Vishnu revealed his true form, leaving Vrinda stunned.”

“In anguish, she questioned, ‘Lord, why have you deceived me? I was your devoted follower!’ Lord Vishnu remained silent. Devastated, Vrinda cursed him, saying, ‘Just as you have separated me from my husband's dharma, you must also be estranged from your wife.’ Consequently, Lord Vishnu had to endure separation from Sita during her exile.”

“After Vrinda departed from her physical form, Lord Vishnu expressed profound sorrow, stating, ‘Vrinda, you are pure. From your body, I will create a sacred plant that will be worshipped in homes as Tulsi. You shall be my beloved.’ Thus, the Tulsi plant was brought to Earth. Ever since, Tulsi Maa has been venerated in every household, and her presence is deemed essential for the worship of Lord Vishnu, as Adah explained.”

In her video, the ‘Commando 3’ actress added, “Do you know why we offer Tulsi Maa in every ritual? P.S. The design behind my head is the resting place of kharutai during rain. My mother created this rangoli with the help of Sanjeevani. I’m not skilled at making rangoli myself.”

Tulsi Vivah is a cherished Hindu tradition that marks the symbolic marriage of the revered Tulsi plant—believed to be the earthly incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi—with Lord Vishnu, represented by a Shaligram or an Amla branch. This ritual holds profound spiritual significance and also heralds the conclusion of the monsoon season, marking the beginning of the auspicious wedding season in Hindu culture.
