Mumbai, April 2 (NationPress) Actress Nimrat Kaur celebrated Hanuman Jayanti this Thursday by reflecting on a profoundly personal and spiritual journey in Varanasi, wandering through its historical and devotional lanes.

Nimrat took to Instagram to share a collection of photos from her visit, featuring the ghats, temples, and even akhadas. A few images show her alongside local wrestlers.

In her caption, Nimrat revealed that her adventure commenced at the revered Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple, said to be where Tulsidas experienced a divine vision of Lord Hanuman. She then proceeded to Tulsi Ghat, a location she described as among the most tranquil and spiritually enriching she has ever encountered.

In her own words: “On this Hanuman Jayanti, I wish to share an invaluable experience in Kashi while walking through the history of our prayers. It all began at the Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple, where Sant Tulsidas, according to legend, saw Hanuman ji, leading me to visit his home at Tulsi Ghat. It’s one of the most serene, energetically vibrant places I’ve ever been.”

Describing the experience as “priceless,” Nimrat noted that her visit also unveiled the historic Tulsi Akhara, established in the mid-1500s.

“As a delightful surprise, I stumbled upon the remarkable Tulsi Akhara, founded in the mid-1500s.”

She was deeply moved by the unique combination of devotion and discipline exhibited by the wrestlers, who commit their lives to Lord Hanuman while engaging in rigorous training.

“The wrestlers here show monk-like dedication to their patron deity, Hanuman, pursuing a life of spiritual discipline and physical rigor. Their daily regimen typically starts with Boondi ke laddoo (a personal favorite I was fortunate enough to enjoy that morning) followed by practice in mud from the banks of the Ganga, treated with alum, mustard oil, and turmeric,” she explained.

Reflecting on the spiritual heritage of the place, Nimrat pointed out that Goswami Tulsidas composed the Ramcharitmanas and the Hanuman Chalisa on the same sacred ground, enhancing its extraordinary aura of history and faith.

“Their ustaad, depicted in one of the photos, is a silver-haired, eagle-eyed 78-year-old man who showcases the fitness and agility of a 20-year-old athlete, embodying the essence of ‘Naase rog hare sab peera, japat nirantar hanumant bira’,” she noted.

“It was here, on this divine soil, that Goswami Tulsidas penned the Ram Charit Manas and composed the Hanuman Chalisa.”

She concluded by stating: “The fusion of history, legend, tradition, sacrifice, devotion, and discipline present here is simply unparalleled. I feel immensely blessed to have wandered through those silent, sunlit corridors, soaking in some of that ancient light and dust. Happy Hanuman Jayanti to everyone!”
