Mumbai, Dec 27 (NationPress) Actor Ahan Shetty believes that a significant transformation in the initial 25 years of the 21st century is the increasing authenticity in cinema, where narratives are now more influenced by genuine emotions and relatability rather than just star power and visual spectacle.

In a reflection on the evolution of film, Ahan, son of Bollywood icon Suniel Shetty, shared with IANS: “I think the most notable transition has been the rise of honest storytelling in films. Previously, many narratives focused on star-driven attractions and grand displays. Today, even major productions strive to evoke emotions and connect with audiences.”

He pointed out that past stories often emphasized extravagant elements, whereas even high-budget movies now aim to resonate on a deeper emotional level.

“The advancements in technology have certainly expanded the scale and audience reach, but what surprises me most is today's audience. They are much more engaged, scrutinizing every detail, questioning decisions, and truly investing in the cinematic experience,” he noted.

Ahan believes this evolution has elevated the expectations for actors as well. He asserts that performers can no longer depend solely on superficial appeal.

“As an actor, you cannot just rely on surface-level impressions anymore. You have to genuinely embody your character on screen,” Ahan stated.

Starting his acting journey with Milan Luthria's romantic action drama film Tadap in 2021, where he starred alongside Tara Sutaria, Ahan’s film was a remake of the successful Telugu action film RX 100.

He is now gearing up for the release of the upcoming film “Border 2”. Directed by Anurag Singh, the movie boasts a stellar cast that includes Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, Medha Rana, Mona Singh, and Sonam Bajwa.

Produced by Bhushan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta, the film is set to premiere in theaters on January 23, 2026.
