Mumbai, Jan 13 (NationPress) Veteran actor and devoted father Suniel Shetty was visibly emotional as tears streamed down his face while discussing his son Ahaan Shetty’s path in the film industry. During an event on Monday, Suniel attended the launch of the reimagined version of the song “Jaate Hue Lamhon”, originally from the 1997 film “Border”, which starred him alongside other greats.
With evident emotion, Suniel shared, “This is Ahaan’s second film, and landing such a significant role is truly remarkable. While he was working on the film, I reminded him, ‘Ahaan, it’s not just about wearing the uniform; remember this…’”
He continued, “If our nation is recognized for its advancement, it’s equally known for the bravery these officers instill in us. I advised him to put his heart into everything he does. Securing such a major project is a monumental achievement. As a father, I feel grateful.”
Suniel remarked that Ahaan experienced a brief period of uncertainty after his initial film, countering the common belief that star kids have an easier path, noting the challenges Ahaan faced in his career.
“After his debut, there was a slight hiatus. Life often brings turmoil. Many say that being Suniel Shetty’s son guarantees work, but Ahaan has faced numerous challenges,” he stated.
Suniel concluded, “I’m thrilled he received Border 2 as his second film. He couldn't have asked for a better project. I just hope he does justice to it and that it resonates well with audiences.”
According to Varun Dhawan, “Border 2” is inspired by the 1971 war and real events. The film is produced by Gulshan Kumar & T-Series, in collaboration with J.P. Dutta’s J.P. Films. The project is supported by an impressive production team that includes Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, J.P. Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta, with direction by Anurag Singh.
The movie is set to premiere on January 23.
Meanwhile, the original “Border”, directed by J.P. Dutta, was released in 1997 and starred a stellar cast including Sunny Deol, Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty, Akshaye Khanna, Puneet Issar, Sudesh Berry, and Kulbhushan Kharbanda, along with Tabu, Pooja Bhatt, Rakhee Gulzar, Sharbani Mukherjee, Sapna Bedi, and Rajiv Goswami.
