Mumbai, July 5 (NationPress) It’s a moment of immense pride for the Bollywood father-son pair Suniel and Ahan Shetty. Ahan is set to uphold his father's legacy in the upcoming film "Border 2".
Suniel starred in the iconic 1997 war film "Border", and now his son has been cast in the highly anticipated sequel, "Border 2", alongside Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, and Diljit Dosanjh.
Ahan shared a touching collage on his official Instagram, featuring a snapshot of Suniel from the original "Border" film alongside a picture of himself from "Border 2".
In an emotional caption, Ahan expressed, "Har beta kahin na kahin apne baap jaisa banna chahta hai." (Deep down, every son wishes to be like his father) Border 2 - January 23, 2026 🇮🇳.
In response, Suniel commented, "Chip of the old soul" on Ahan's post.
In a related development, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has temporarily lifted its non-cooperation order against Diljit, allowing him to work specifically on "Border 2".
BN Tiwari, President of FWICE, noted that the decision came after T-Series head Bhushan Kumar requested them to permit the actor and singer to continue filming for the war drama.
The producers indicated that finding a different cast combination for "Border 2" would be challenging, given that most of the action sequences have already been filmed.
FWICE had initially issued a non-cooperation order against Diljit due to criticism for collaborating with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in "Sardaar Ji 3".
Directed by Anurag Singh, "Border 2" is expected to depict events from the 1999 Kargil War.
This sequel to the 1997 war drama "Border" draws inspiration from the 1971 Battle of Longewala.
Produced by Gulshan Kumar, T-Series, and JP Dutta's J.P. Films, "Border 2" is set for theatrical release on January 23, 2026.
