Mumbai, July 5 (NationPress) This is a moment of immense pride for the Bollywood father-son pair, Suniel and Ahan Shetty. Ahan is set to uphold his father's legacy in the upcoming film 'Border'.
Suniel starred in the original 1997 war drama 'Border', and now Ahan has been cast in the highly anticipated sequel, 'Border 2', alongside stars like Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, and Diljit Dosanjh.
Ahan shared a heartfelt post on his official Instagram, featuring a collage of images—one of Suniel from 'Border' and another of Ahan from 'Border 2'.
In an emotional caption, Ahan wrote, 'Har beta kahin na kahin apne baap jaisa banna chahta hai.' (Deep down every son wishes to become like his father) Border 2 - January 23, 2026 🇮🇳.
In response, Suniel commented, 'Chip of the old soul.'
Meanwhile, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has temporarily lifted its non-cooperation order against Diljit, allowing him to work on 'Border 2.'
BN Tiwari, the President of FWICE, revealed that the decision to lift the ban followed a request from T-series head Bhushan Kumar, emphasizing the difficulty in finding a suitable cast since many action sequences have already been filmed.
FWICE had issued the ban due to public backlash over Diljit’s collaboration with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in 'Sardaar Ji 3.'
Directed by Anurag Singh, 'Border 2' is anticipated to depict the events of the 1999 Kargil War.
This film is a follow-up to the 1997 classic 'Border', which drew inspiration from the 1971 Battle of Longewala.
Produced by Gulshan Kumar, T-Series, and JP Dutta's J.P. Films, 'Border 2' is set for theatrical release on January 23, 2026.
