Mumbai, June 23 (NationPress) The upcoming film 'Sardaar Ji 3', featuring global sensation Diljit Dosanjh, is facing backlash due to the casting of Pakistani artists. The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has publicly criticized the decision to include Hania Aamir in the movie.
The president of AICWA, Suresh Shyamlal Gupta, has released a statement advocating for a nationwide boycott of the film, urging artists within the Indian film industry to refrain from collaborating with Diljit on any projects, including live performances.
He stated, "In light of the recent horrific terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, which resulted in the loss of 26 innocent Indian lives due to Pakistani-sponsored terrorism, it is astonishing that Diljit Dosanjh has opted to cast a Pakistani artist. This decision occurs at a time when the entire nation—over 1.4 billion Indians, including the government, opposition, and citizens from all segments—stands united against Pakistan, demonstrating solidarity with the families of the fallen heroes."
Following the Pulwama terrorist attack in 2019, AICWA had instituted a formal boycott of all Pakistani artists in India, warning the Indian film and music industry that any breach of this patriotic stance would result in severe repercussions.
He added that Diljit has disregarded the sentiments of the nation through his decisions, dishonoring the sacrifices made by brave soldiers and civilians.
"Choosing Pakistani talent over Indian artists casts serious doubts on his loyalty and priorities," he further commented.
The film, produced and headlined by Diljit, is a collaborative project with other producers.
AICWA has declared a complete boycott against Diljit from the Indian film industry, calling on all Indian producers, production houses, music companies, event organizers, and film workers to unite and refrain from any association with Diljit Dosanjh in a professional context. AICWA intends to engage various industry unions, workers’ bodies, and stakeholders to uphold this patriotic appeal, emphasizing that failing to take a stand now could convey a detrimental message globally.
