Mumbai, June 23 (NationPress) Global sensation Diljit Dosanjh's upcoming film 'Sardaar Ji 3' is facing severe backlash regarding the casting choices involving Pakistani artists. The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has expressed its disapproval of Hania Aamir's role in the film.
The president of AICWA, Suresh Shyamlal Gupta, has made a statement urging a nationwide boycott of the film and has called for artists from the Indian film industry to refrain from collaborating with Diljit on any projects, including live events.
He stated, "In light of the recent tragic terrorist incident in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, where 26 innocent lives were lost due to Pakistani-sponsored terrorism, it is shocking that Diljit has opted to cast a Pakistani artist. This decision comes at a time when the entire nation, comprising 140 crore Indians, the government, and citizens from all walks of life, stand united against Pakistan and support the families of the fallen heroes."
Following the Pulwama terror attack in 2019, AICWA had formally enacted a boycott against all Pakistani artists in India. They warned the Indian film and music industries that any breach of this patriotic stance would result in stringent repercussions.
Gupta further asserted that Diljit has undermined the sentiments of the nation with his decision, thus disrespecting the sacrifices made by brave soldiers and civilians.
"His choice to favor Pakistani talent over Indian artists raises important questions about his loyalty and priorities," he added.
The film is produced and led by Diljit, who has co-produced it alongside other collaborators.
AICWA has declared a total ban on Diljit in the Indian film industry, urging all Indian producers, production houses, music companies, event organizers, and film workers to unite and distance themselves from Diljit Dosanjh in any professional context. AICWA has pledged to reach out to various industry unions and stakeholders to reinforce this patriotic directive. They emphasized that if the film industry and Indian citizens do not take a firm stance now, it might convey the wrong message on a global scale.
