Thiruvananthapuram, May 9 (NationPress) Emerging actress Aishwarya Raj faced the realities of conflict on Thursday night. Upon returning to her hotel in Jaisalmer after a day of filming her latest project ‘Half’, under the direction of Samjad, she was startled by the ominous sounds and fireballs illuminating the night sky.
In a phone interview with the media from Jaisalmer on Friday, she recounted, “Initially, I thought it was some kind of a mock exercise by the Indian Armed Forces. It wasn’t until later that I understood the sounds and lights were actually shells being fired.”
She continued, “It became truly frightening when I realized it wasn’t a drill but a genuine conflict. I only grasped how serious it was after turning on the television in my hotel room,” added Raj.
A crew of two hundred from the Malayalam film ‘Half’ has been filming in and around Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, for the past ten days.
“Due to the escalating tensions, we’ve halted our film shoot and are preparing to leave,” Aishwarya Raj mentioned.
She elaborated, “We have no choice but to evacuate as the situation has intensified, and what we witnessed last night was alarming. Furthermore, our shoot was scheduled for areas nearer to the border, which is now impossible. We’re all waiting for transportation to take us by road to Ahmadabad, from where we’ll fly to Kochi,” said Raj, who recently starred in the Malayalam film “Officer on Duty.”
