Mumbai, May 2 (NationPress) Actress Akansha Ranjan Kapoor has taken on the challenge of learning to ride a scooty for her role in the upcoming series “Gram Chikitsalay”, where she portrays a doctor named Gargi.
Akansha remarked: "I picked up scooty riding specifically for Gram Chikitsalay. When I first met the director, Rahul, he asked if I had any experience riding one. I said no, and he jokingly suggested, ‘Learn it.’ I told him, ‘I’ve never even ridden a bicycle—how can I do this?’ I have always been apprehensive about two-wheelers."
“But then he playfully added, ‘Learn it, or you’ll miss out on the show.’ So, during the shoot, they brought in a body double for a scene, but I insisted, ‘No, I want to try it myself! I’ve been practicing scooty riding for a month, and I’m ready to film the shot.’ We ended up shooting for three to four hours, and honestly, it was so much fun. I am proud to have learned this skill just for the series,” she shared.
Set in the lively landscape of rural India, Gram Chikitsalay highlights the healthcare challenges faced in the heart of the country. This slice-of-life series combines realism with themes of friendship, corruption, and deep emotions.
Gram Chikitsalay tracks the inspiring journey of Dr. Prabhat, a city doctor who sets out to rejuvenate a nearly abandoned Primary Health Centre in the remote village of Bhathkandi.
The show features a remarkable cast including Amol Parashar and Vinay Pathak in leading roles, along with Anandeshwar Dwivedi, Akash Makhija, and Garima Vikrant Singh. Produced by The Viral Fever (TVF) and created by Deepak Kumar Mishra, the original series is penned by Vaibhav Suman and Shreya Shrivastava, with direction by Rahul Pandey.
It is set to debut on Prime Video starting May 9.
