Mumbai, May 21 (NationPress) Actress Akanksha Ranjan Kapoor holds a deep appreciation for characters that resonate with audiences and expressed her eagerness to delve into any role that pushes her beyond her usual boundaries.
When questioned about the types of roles she wishes to explore, Akanksha shared with IANS: “I’m not selective about the roles I seek. I simply desire to immerse myself in situations that challenge me and take me to uncharted territories. This is quite distinct from my current self.”
For her, the genre of a project is secondary.
Akanksha elaborated: “So, no specific genres. I just aspire to continuously test my limits and choose roles that resonate with audiences. The writing from TVF is so character-driven that it made my job easier.”
Discussing her role in “Gram Chikitsalay” and the evolution of her character arc in Season 2, she mentioned: “Indeed, Gargi is the lead female character in this series. She wasn’t featured in this season, as her character was still in development. Expect to see much more of Dr. Gargi in Season 2 and beyond.”
For Akanksha, portraying a de-glam character like Gargi was “quite manageable.”
“Gargi's character was so well-crafted that stepping into her shoes felt natural. After all the preparation and readings, I easily grasped her identity and life motivations,” she stated.
She acknowledged the challenges that come with playing a role that contrasts with one's own personality.
“It was enjoyable and thrilling. I’ve developed a solid command of Hindi diction throughout my film school journey, alongside various diction classes,” she continued.
The actress also immersed herself in YouTube content from young women taking entrance exams and those from smaller towns to better understand their speech patterns and nuances.
What exciting projects lie ahead for her?
Akanksha indicated: “There are two streaming projects that I’ll begin this year or possibly at the end of this year and into the next. I’m looking forward to starting preparations soon.”
“I can’t reveal too much since they haven’t been announced yet, but they’re quite thrilling, and you’ll hear more soon,” she concluded.
