Mumbai, June 12 (NationPress) Actor Ali Fazal, who is preparing for the upcoming release of his film ‘Metro... In Dino’, has shared insights into the brilliance of the film’s director, Anurag Basu.
In a recent conversation with IANS, Ali discussed the film’s unique hyperlink narrative structure. He revealed how he was taken by surprise to discover that his ‘Mirzapur’ co-star Pankaj Tripathi was inside a car during a scene, an element he was completely unaware of.
‘Metro... In Dino’ serves as the concluding part of Anurag’s trilogy focused on hyperlinked storytelling. Similar to ‘Ludo’, where characters were unaware of each other’s backstories until the climax, this film carries on that tradition.
Ali recounted, “Yes, he has maintained that style. There’s a moment in the film when I step in front of a car, which almost grazed me. I captured that moment. Pankaj Tripathi was actually in that car, and Anurag didn’t inform me. He just said, ‘There’s a car. If you feel it’s going to hit you, move out of the way’ as if it were just a regular vehicle.”
He further explained, “I had no idea Pankaj ji was there. Later, during the promotional events, he told me, ‘When you stood in front of the car, this happened.’ I was confused at first, asking, ‘Which car?’ Then it clicked, and I thought, ‘Oh, you were in that white car!’ I love these unexpected elements.”
