Mumbai, Oct 6 (NationPress) In the forthcoming episode of “Bigg Boss 19”, music composer Amaal Mallik opened up about the profoundly personal narrative behind his popular track “Roke Na Ruke Naina” from the film “Badrinath Ki Dulhania”.
“I was experiencing a breakup and had plans for a trip when Shashank presented me with this song. Initially, I declined as I was set to leave, but he encouraged me to work on it during the trip,” Amaal explained.
He expressed that the second stanza holds significant emotional value for him.
Elaborating on its importance, Amaal remarked: “It marked a final parting for us—we were not meant to meet again. That’s when I penned, ‘Haathon ki lakeere do milti jahan hai, jisko pata hai bata de, jagah wo kahan hai.’”
Amaal also mentioned that renowned playback singer Arijit Singh recorded the song in a mere 20 minutes.
“Arijit was supposed to record this piece, and my friends were there to meet him. He arrived, recorded in just 20 minutes, and those very moments earned him the Filmfare award,” Amaal stated.
Discussing Badrinath Ki Dulhania, the romantic comedy directed by Shashank Khaitan is the second film in the Dulhania series and a spiritual successor to Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. It stars Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt.
The film narrates the journey of an aspiring independent air hostess from a small town who defies the patriarchal expectations set by her chauvinistic fiancé.
No contestants were evicted over the weekend from the show. The nominated participants included Ashnoor Kaur, Tanya Mittal, Amaal Mallik, Neelam Giri, Zeishan Quadri, Kunickaa Sadanand, Nehal Chudasama, and Pranit More.
Bigg Boss is based on the Dutch format of Big Brother. Since its launch on November 3, 2006, the show has successfully completed eighteen seasons along with three OTT seasons.
