Mumbai, Jan 17 (NationPress) In the wake of Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman's 'communal' remark controversy, actress Kangana Ranaut recounted her unpleasant encounter with him during her directorial project Emergency.

Kangana expressed her eagerness to share the script with Rahman but was disappointed when he declined to meet her, stating he did not want to engage with a propaganda film.

In her Instagram Stories, she commented, "Dear @arrahman ji, I have faced considerable prejudice and partiality in the film industry due to my support for a saffron party. Yet, I must say, I have never encountered someone as prejudiced and hateful as you. I desperately wanted to present my directorial Emergency to you, but you even refused to meet me. I was informed that you did not want to participate in a propaganda film. (sic)"

Kangana further emphasized that, contrary to Rahman's view, Emergency was well-received by critics. She noted that leaders from opposing parties sent her letters commending the film's balanced portrayal.

"Ironically, Emergency has been called a masterpiece by critics, and even opposition party members have sent me fan letters praising the film for its balanced and compassionate approach. However, you seem blinded by your hate. I feel sorry for you #emergency," Kangana added.

In an interview with BBC Asian Network, Rahman mentioned that he has been receiving fewer work offers in Bollywood lately.

He stated that the reasons often reach him indirectly, describing it as "Chinese whispers".

Rahman elaborated, "People who lack creativity now hold the power to make decisions. This could also have a communal aspect, but not directly to my face."

He concluded, "I hear through Chinese whispers that they have booked you, but the music company has gone ahead and hired their five composers. I thought, 'Oh, that's fine, I can relax with my family.'"
