Mumbai, Jan 27 (NationPress) As Ram Lakhan marks its 37th anniversary since hitting theaters, Anil Kapoor reminisced about his unforgettable role as Lakhan, highlighting that the character exuded a unique energy, attitude, and rhythm.

On Instagram, Anil posted memorable moments from the film alongside his legendary track “My Name Is Lakhan”.

Expressing his thankfulness for the cherished memories and the ongoing affection the film receives, he remarked that Lakhan has certainly aged gracefully, even after all these years.

Anil shared: “Today marks 37 years of Ram Lakhan. Lakhan had a spirit, flair, and a beat of his own, and it’s evident he’s aged quite well. I am grateful for the memories and the lasting love. #37yearsoframlakhan”.

The blockbuster from 1989 featured Jackie Shroff alongside Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Rakhee, Amrish Puri, and Dimple Kapadia, known for its standout performances, hit songs, and grand storytelling.

Ram Lakhan also includes Paresh Rawal, Anupam Kher, Gulshan Grover, Saeed Jaffrey, and Satish Kaushik. Subhash Ghai made a special appearance in the song “Tera Naam Liya Tujhe Yaad Kiya”.

Regarded as Ghai’s finest work, Ram Lakhan has achieved cult classic status and continues to be celebrated for its cast, direction, and music. Anil’s performance in “My Name Is Lakhan” has become a hallmark of his career.

The narrative follows Ram, a principled police officer, and his sibling Lakhan, a charming playboy, who pledge revenge upon discovering that two nefarious con artists murdered their father.

In his recent acting endeavors, Anil was seen in War 2, helmed by Ayan Mukerji. This film is the sixth entry in the YRF Spy Universe and a sequel to the 2019 movie War, featuring Hrithik Roshan, Jr. NTR, and Kiara Advani.

The plot focuses on Kabir Dhaliwal, a former RAW agent who turns rogue, posing a significant threat to national security, while a special unit officer, Vikram Chelapathi, is tasked with stopping him.

Next, he will appear in Subedaar, set in rural India, following Arjun Singh, a former soldier who grapples with civilian life while haunted by his past and a strained relationship with his daughter.

As he confronts personal and societal obstacles, he strives to repair his bond with his daughter, Shyama (played by Radhikka Madan), all while battling his inner demons.

The film explores themes of honor, sacrifice, and resilience, promising a poignant portrayal of a man torn between his national duties and personal affections.

Additionally, Anil is set to appear in Alpha, which is also part of the YRF Spy Universe like War 2. In Alpha, he shares the screen with Bollywood star Alia Bhatt and actress Sharvari, known for her role in Munjya. Alpha signifies the first female-led action film within this universe.
