He expressed that being part of this film felt like a long-cherished dream, as he had imagined embodying such a character for many years. This opportunity is not only significant but also profoundly personal for him. Born and raised in Meerut Cantonment, Ankit has a deep-rooted connection to the military, with numerous family members serving in the Indian Army. At an event, he remarked, “Wearing the uniform has always been a dream. Growing up in Meerut Cantt, I developed a strong emotional bond with the military. This role feels like a culmination of that dream.”
“I extend my gratitude to Razy sir, Farhan sir, and Ritesh sir for their belief in me,” he added.
Reflecting on his journey, Ankit recalled how the film “Lakshya” left a lasting impression on him during his teenage years. “I was in Class 11 when I first watched Lakshya. That film ignited the dream within me. Now, it feels like that vision is coming to fruition in the most meaningful manner.”
The upcoming action film “120 Bahadur” is being produced by Excel Entertainment, co-founded by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani. This movie is anticipated to be a poignant tribute to India’s unsung heroes. In the film, Farhan Akhtar portrays Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, who led a heroic defense and was posthumously honored with the Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest military accolade.
On August 5, the filmmakers unveiled the teaser on social media, stating, “Yeh wardi sirf himmat nahin, balidaan bhi maangti hai!” The teaser is based on an incredible true story of a war fought in snow and sealed with sacrifice. 120 Bahadur promises to honor the courage of 120 Indian soldiers from the 13th Kumaon Regiment who valiantly faced the Chinese PLA during the 1962 Battle of Rezang La. The teaser encapsulates their indomitable spirit with a stirring message: “Hum Peechhe Nahin Hatenge!” (We will not retreat).
