Chennai, Oct 11 (NationPress) The crew behind the pan-Indian Malayalam film 'Kattalan', starring actor Antony Varghese (Pepe) in the leading role, has unveiled the first look of the actor in the film to celebrate his birthday.

The production company, Cube Entertainments, shared the first look poster on their social media accounts, stating, "ONLY THE WILDEST WILL SURVIVE. KATTALAN - THE HUNTER | FIRST LOOK. ANTONY VARGHESE like you've never seen before. Happy Birthday, Champ!"

The newly released poster showcases the remarkable transformation of Antony Varghese Pepe in this role. With strikingly fiery eyes, tousled red hair, and a cigar clenched between his teeth, Antony's appearance exudes primal energy, setting the stage for an exhilarating mass entertainer. His blood-stained face and hands emphasize the film's intense action vibe, portraying him in a fierce new persona unlike anything audiences have witnessed previously.

Interestingly, just a day prior, the team announced the completion of the film's shooting schedule in Thailand, which commenced on October 1 this year.

Recently, while filming an action scene in Thailand, the actor sustained injuries during a stunt involving an elephant. The high-impact action sequences were choreographed by Kecha Khamphakdee, the internationally acclaimed action director known for the 'Ong-Bak' series, along with his skilled team. Notably, 'Kattalan' features Pong, the elephant that gained fame from the 'Ong-Bak' films.

For those who may not know, producer Shareef Muhammed of Cubes Entertainments, widely recognized for the blockbuster 'Marco', is back with his next ambitious project titled 'Kattalan', a high-octane pan-Indian action thriller directed by Paul George.

Alongside Antony Varghese (Pepe), the film will star actress Rajisha Vijayan, as well as rapper Baby Jean, and Telugu actor Sunil, celebrated for his roles in hits like 'Pushpa: The Rise' (2021), 'Pushpa 2' (2024), and 'Jailer' (2023). The cast also includes Kabir Duhan Singh, known for his compelling performances across various languages, along with veteran Malayalam actors Jagadeesh and Siddique in critical roles.

Additionally, the makers recently welcomed actors Parth Tiwari and Anson Paul to the cast, along with upcoming talent Shon Joy, recognized for his role in the debut film 'Alappuzha Gymkhana' (2025). He is noted for his strong on-screen presence and is considered a promising new talent.

The screenplay is crafted by Paul George, Joby Varghese, and Jero Jacob, marking their sensational writing debut with Kattalan. Reports suggest that these writers have fused raw storytelling energy with cinematic vision to create a gripping, high-stakes narrative that immerses viewers in a world of power, deception, and perilous missions.

The film's music is composed by Ajaneesh Loknath, known for his work on 'Kantara 2', with choreography by Sharief. Costume design is by Dhanya Balakrishnan, and cinematography is handled by Renadive. The editing is managed by Shameer Muhammed.
