Veteran actor Anupam Kher has completed filming for his upcoming biographical drama Shri Rambhoomi, in which he portrays the late Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Ashok Singhal. The wrap-up announcement, shared by the actor on Instagram on 29 August, was accompanied by a heartfelt note describing the project as one that transcended professional achievement and touched him at a deeply human level.

In his post, the 71-year-old actor wrote: 'My work on the film Shri Rambhoomi has been completed. Some films give an actor the satisfaction of knowing that they have done good work. Some bring the pride of being part of a significant and important cinematic project. But there are some films that touch not just an actor but a human being at the deepest level. They purify the soul and fill the heart with a profound and peaceful spiritual experience.'

Kher added that portraying Ashok Singhal was 'a matter of great honour and a blessing from Lord Shri Ram,' calling Singhal's dedication to the Ram Janmabhoomi movement and the vision of a grand temple for Ram Lalla 'beyond words.' He also extended gratitude to the film's producer, director, co-actors, and crew, noting that their contributions were 'invaluable' to his performance.

Shri Rambhoomi chronicles the decades-long journey surrounding the construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, capturing the key events and figures associated with the movement. Directed by Kamakhaya Narayan Singh, the film also stars Ritwik Bhowmik and Amruta Khanvilkar in pivotal roles alongside Kher.
