New Delhi, July 17 (NationPress) The playful banter between Miss Braganza and Mr. Malhotra in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai captivated audiences. However, renowned actor Anupam Kher, who portrayed the charming college principal in the 1998 classic, believes that the fashionable English literature teacher, played by Archana Puran Singh, would not ultimately select him.
When asked if he would be interested in a film centered on the romance of Mr. Malhotra and Miss Braganza, Anupam replied to IANS: “Absolutely! That would be wonderful.”
Despite this, the seasoned actor feels that Miss Braganza would hesitate to consider Mr. Malhotra as her life partner.
Explaining his perspective, he stated: “I think in the end, Miss Braganza will not pick Mr. Malhotra as her partner because Miss Braganza is far too sophisticated, while Mr. Malhotra is just... lovable. Every time I visit Kapil's show, Archana teases me... I always tell her to let him go.”
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was directed by Karan Johar in his debut direction. The cast includes Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Rani Mukerji, Salman Khan, and Sana Saeed.
The narrative spans two timelines and revolves around a love triangle involving college friends Rahul, Anjali, and Tina. It depicts how the tomboyish Anjali has feelings for her best friend Rahul, only to be heartbroken when he chooses to marry Tina, a fellow student. Eight years later, Rahul's daughter tries to bring him back together with Anjali.
The film has received multiple accolades, including the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.
Anupam's recent project is “Tanvi The Great”, marking his return to directing after more than twenty years. This film features a stellar cast from both Indian and international cinema, including Jackie Shroff, Arvind Swami, Boman Irani, Pallavi Joshi, Karan Tacker, Nasser, and Iain Glen.
Also involved are two Oscar winners: music director M.M. Keeravani and sound designer Resul Pookutty. The cinematography is handled by Keiko Nakahara from Japan.
“Tanvi The Great” tells the story of Tanvi Raina, a 21-year-old woman on the autism spectrum, living with her mother Vidya and grandfather Colonel Pratap Raina.
Driven by the memory of her late father, Captain Samar Raina, an Indian Army officer who aspired to salute the flag at Siachen Glacier, Tanvi is determined to pursue his dream by joining the army herself.
