Mumbai, Jan 26 (NationPress) Veteran actor Arun Govil is set to portray King Dashrath in the much-anticipated film 'Ramayana', directed by Nitesh Tiwari.

In an exclusive conversation with IANS, Arun responded to his former co-star Dipika Chikhlia, who expressed her doubts about him taking on a role other than that of Ram.

When asked about Dipika's comments regarding his casting as Dashrath, Arun stated, 'That is her perspective, and everyone has the right to their own opinion.'

To refresh your memory, Dipika, who gained fame as Sita in Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan, mentioned in a media discussion that she finds it hard to envision Arun in any role apart from Ram, adding that his portrayal of Dashrath feels a bit out of context for her.

During our chat, Arun also shared his thoughts on working with Ranbir Kapoor in 'Ramayana'. He remarked, 'He is an exceptional actor, as everyone acknowledges, and I also see him as a wonderful human being. I wish him great success; he has performed admirably.'

The film 'Ramayana' has been produced by Namit Malhotra's Prime Focus Studios and the VFX studio DNEG, in partnership with Yash’s Monster Mind Creations.
