Mumbai, Sep 6 (NationPress) Television actor Ashish Kapoor, who was taken into custody on accusations of raping a woman at a house party in Delhi last month, has now been ordered to remain in judicial custody for 14 days.

The Tis Hazari court in the National Capital issued this order. It stated that, following further inquiries by the Investigating Officer, all necessary medical tests had been performed during the police custody period. The accused has been questioned regarding the full sequence of events and locations visited, but the prosecutrix's phone remains unrecovered.

The order further indicated that the Investigating Officer has requested 14 days of judicial custody, emphasizing that the investigation is still in its early stages, and custody is essential to ensure thorough investigation and prevent evidence tampering.

Since the accused was presented after a four-day police custody, he was asked if he sustained any injuries or experienced custodial violence, to which he answered negatively. No visible physical injuries or medical legal certificates were noted.

Previously, the actor was located in Pune after initially evading authorities in Goa. He was apprehended following a coordinated effort by multiple police teams. A woman filed a complaint alleging that Kapoor, whom she met on Instagram, invited her to a friend's house party in the second week of August.

She accused Kapoor of sexually assaulting her inside the washroom. Investigators revealed that CCTV footage and witness testimonies confirmed that Kapoor and the woman entered a washroom together and did not exit for a substantial period.

When other guests knocked persistently, a confrontation ensued, escalating to the society gate, where the woman alleged she was assaulted by the host's wife. "It was the host's wife who ultimately called the PCR," stated the police.
