Chennai, Aug 18 (NationPress) The production team behind director Athiyan Athirai's highly anticipated film 'Thandakaaranyam', starring Dinesh and Kalaiyarasan in leading roles, has officially revealed that the movie will premiere globally on September 19 this year.
The announcement was made through the X account of Neelam Productions, the production company founded by director Pa Ranjith, which is one of the film's producers.
They stated, "A gripping tale unveiling the wild truths behind wildlife and its protectors. Thandakaaranyam from September 19 - Save the date!"
This film is a collaborative effort by director Pa Ranjith's Neelam Productions and Learn and Teach Productions, and will also showcase actors Rithyvika, Vinsu Sam, Muthukumar, Aruldass, and Saranya Ravichandran in significant roles.
Notably, the Censor Board has already approved the film for release, granting it a U/A certificate.
Actor Shabeer Kallarakkal, recognized for his role as 'Dancing Rose' in the sports drama Sarpetta Parambarai, will have a crucial part in this movie, which will also feature comedian Bala Saravanan.
On the technical side, the film boasts music by Justin Prabhakaran and cinematography by Pratheep Kaliraja. The editing will be managed by Selva, while Tha Ramalingam will oversee the art direction.
According to insiders, the filming took place entirely in forests and mountain villages, with several scenes filmed in hilly terrains.
The film has generated significant buzz, especially following the success of director Athiyan Athirai's previous project, 'Irandam Ulaga Porin Kadaisi Gundu' (The Last Bomb of the Second World War), which was both critically acclaimed and commercially successful.
'Irandam Ulaga Porin Kadaisi Gundu' highlighted the exploitation faced by the working class in the informal sector and effectively addressed issues related to caste and honor killings. Interestingly, Attakathi Dinesh played the lead role in this film as well.
