Mumbai, Nov 22 (NationPress) Renowned filmmaker Ayan Mukerji paid tribute to his late father Deb Mukherjee on the occasion of his first birth anniversary through a heartfelt social media tribute.

The creator of 'Wake Up Sid' shared cherished throwback memories of the father-son relationship on his official Instagram account.

In the first image, a young Ayan beams with joy, cradled in his father’s arms. Another nostalgic snapshot captures a moment from his childhood where he is seen crying while being held by his dad.

Additionally, there’s a candid shot of little Ayan pointing at something, sharing a moment of discovery with his father.

The post also showcased more recent photographs of the two together.

The final image featured Deb Mukherjee at the Durga Puja Pundal, an event he was known for organizing annually before his passing on March 14 this year at the age of 83.

In his touching message, Ayan expressed, “Happy Birthday Baba !!! (Red heart, Om, and white heart emoji) Love you. Miss you, (sic).

Moreover, the 'Brahmastra' director included an old birthday card he had crafted for his father during his childhood.

For those unfamiliar, Deb Mukherjee hailed from a cinematic lineage. His mother, Satidevi, was the only sister of the esteemed brothers Ashok Kumar, Anup Kumar, and Kishore Kumar. He also had brothers in the industry, including actor Joy Mukherjee and filmmaker Shomu Mukherjee.

Deb Mukherjee had two marriages; his first wife gave him a daughter, Sunita, who is married to director Ashutosh Gowariker. Ayan is from his second marriage.

Deb Mukherjee began his cinematic journey with minor roles in the 1960s, eventually becoming a supporting actor in films like 'Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander' and 'King Uncle'.

His last appearance was in a cameo role in Vishal Bhardwaj's 2009 film 'Kaminey'.
