Mumbai, Jan 15 (NationPress) Celebrated for his appearances in the television series “Dill Mill Gaye” and the movie “Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na”, actor Ayaz Khan shared on Thursday that he votes driven by a sense of hope and routine, voicing his aspiration for an enhanced quality of life for the people of Mumbai.

In a conversation with IANS after he cast his vote in the Maharashtra local elections, Khan highlighted the financial burden of income tax on citizens. He stressed the necessity for better infrastructure, cleaner air, and accessible education and healthcare, especially for those unable to afford private services.

“As direct income tax contributors, we can only hope for improvements in our quality of life. While I acknowledge that progress is being made, we desire more. Each time we vote, it is with the hope that conditions will improve,” he remarked.

“That’s why we rise to vote; we believe in change. We need better roads, cleaner air, and enhanced education and healthcare for those who cannot afford insurance or private care. These are crucial areas to focus on first,” Ayaz noted.

Recently featured in Saif Ali Khan's film Jewel Thief, he also encouraged citizens to exercise their voting rights, asserting that change is attainable, and hope compels people to return to the polls repeatedly.

“Voting is essential. It can be disheartening when one wonders about its impact, but participation is crucial as you never know if the next leader might bring about significant changes,” he stated.

He added: “It’s all about hope—similar to praying to God for success in exams or salary increments. It’s a matter of holding onto that hope.”
