Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana on Tuesday, 29 September 2026 showered praise on veteran filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya, calling him a 'legendary director' with an unmatched ability to bring families together on screen. Khurrana made the remarks at the FICCI Frames event in Mumbai, where he spoke about their upcoming collaboration, 'Yeh Prem Mol Liya', set to release on 27 November 2026.

What Ayushmann Said About Sooraj Barjatya

'Sooraj Barjatya's film Yeh Prem Mol Liya will release on November 27. Our trailer will be unveiled on Diwali with Ramayan. I am very excited to work with him because he is a very legendary director. He has a very big legacy. And he has the ability to connect families. So you will see that through the film,' Khurrana said at the event.

Barjatya is widely regarded as one of Hindi cinema's foremost storytellers of family drama, having delivered landmark hits including 'Hum Aapke Hain Koun', 'Maine Pyar Kiya', and 'Vivah'. His films have consistently drawn multi-generational audiences, a quality that Khurrana said drew him to the project.

Key Details About 'Yeh Prem Mol Liya'

The film is directed by Sooraj R. Barjatya and produced by Rajshri Productions in association with Mahaveer Jain Films. It marks the first on-screen pairing of Khurrana with actress Sharvari, generating considerable curiosity among fans of both stars.

Notably, music composer Himesh Reshammiya has reunited with Barjatya for the film — their first collaboration in a decade, after 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' in 2015. At the same event, Khurrana also spoke about his other forthcoming film, 'Udta Teer', releasing on 9 October 2026. He described it as a genre-bending project. 'My film Udta Teer is releasing on October 9. It is a very different story. I want to say that it is India's first patriotic comedy where I become a Pakistani spy and lose my memory in India,' he said.

He elaborated further: 'My character in the film starts fighting for India. So in a way, he remembers patriotism, but he forgets which country it is. So it's a very beautiful story.' The premise places 'Udta Teer' in uncommon territory for mainstream Hindi cinema — blending espionage with comedy and national sentiment.
