Mumbai, Dec 23 (NationPress) Bollywood sensation Ayushmann Khurrana has experienced an outstanding 2025 and is looking ahead to an even more promising 2026 with his upcoming projects, including ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh Do’ and a collaboration with Sooraj Barjatya. He expresses his excitement about stepping into the New Year with two consecutive Rs.100 crore successes—“Dream Girl 2” and “Thamma”.

"The landscape of cinema has transformed in the wake of the pandemic, and achieving this success feels incredibly validating. I am profoundly grateful that both Dream Girl 2 and Thamma have resonated so well with audiences. Entering 2026 with two Rs.100 crore hits is a thrilling prospect for me," stated Ayushmann.

Discussing his plans for 2026, Ayushmann remarked, "To kick things off, I'm eagerly anticipating Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, which is a wholesome family comedy, a genre that always has its place. Following that, I will be working on a project with the esteemed Sooraj Barjatya. His humility and tireless work ethic are truly inspiring."

What captivates Ayushmann about Barjatya is his dedication to cinema and his nerdy approach to filmmaking.

"I am genuinely a fan of his family-oriented films; he is a true expert in this genre, and there’s a noticeable scarcity of such films today. No one excels in this domain quite like Sooraj sir," Ayushmann added.

He also expressed what excites him most about Barjatya's upcoming film: "The focus isn't solely on one lead character; instead, the whole family becomes the centerpiece of the narrative. This makes it genuinely special. In a Sooraj Barjatya film, the lead is a quintessential positive figure, which is a refreshing change from the clutter we often witness in cinema today.”

While Ayushmann usually gravitates toward flawed characters who undergo growth, he acknowledges this film is different.

He shared, "It’s a celebration of an ideal family as the hero. I believe that seeing such a family on screen will be both inspiring and heartwarming."

Following this, Ayushmann will begin filming for an untitled project with YRF–Posham Pa at the start of 2026 and is also set to release his film with Dharma Sikhya.

Identifying himself as a “producer-friendly actor,” he stated, "Once I commit to a project and step onto the set, I prioritize simplicity, even with my team. It’s not just about the scripts I choose; it’s about the kind of professional I am. I take pride in being a collaborative force rather than just a leading actor," said Ayushmann.

Addressing the notion of franchises, he explained, "The credibility of a franchise’s predecessor is a significant advantage, whether it's Badhaai Ho or Dream Girl. I would love to explore Andhadhun 2 in the future."

"The audience's preferences have become increasingly discerning when it comes to watching new films, so creating a high-quality product is a priority, especially with a successful franchise backing it," he concluded.

Ayushmann remarked, "Pati Patni aur Woh Do takes me back to the 1978 classic featuring Sanjeev Kumar. It’s an exciting project, especially with BR Chopra Films now under the leadership of Juno Chopra!"
