Los Angeles, March 21 (NationPress) Music producer Benny Blanco revealed that his singer-actress fiancée Selena Gomez was feeling quite grumpy and had almost decided not to attend on the day he proposed.
During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the host extended his congratulations to Blanco and Gomez for their engagement.
When Fallon, 50, inquired whether she had any hints about the proposal, Gomez shared that it completely took her by surprise and turned her frown into joy, according to reports from people.com.
“We had a lot of promotional work for the album to do,” Gomez explained.
“I woke up feeling confused about the day's events and our destination seemed quite distant. I was a bit grumpy and tired. I mentioned, ‘After this shoot, I'm going to meet up with my friends.’ To which he replied, ‘Okay, sure. We’ll see when you get here.’”
Blanco added, “She nearly didn’t show up. She was like, ‘I’m not feeling great. I think I’ll just stay home today. Can’t we just reschedule the shoot?’ I was left to think, ‘Uhh...’ trying to come up with a plan…”
“Honestly, getting engaged is the most surreal experience ever,” Blanco stated.
He continued, “Right before you’re about to propose, it’s like they’re saying, ‘Show me how well you can deceive me.’ It’s incredibly challenging. She was frustrated with me because I had been telling some weak lies the day before.”
