Mumbai, Nov 25 (NationPress) The upcoming episode of Indian Idol Season 16 promises to be a journey filled with soulful melodies and nostalgia as acclaimed Bollywood actress Bhagyashree Patwardhan graces the stage as a special guest for the highly anticipated Swag vs Sanskaari episode.

Renowned for her timeless elegance and emotionally charged songs, Bhagyashree infused a sense of tranquil warmth into the sets, which resonated in several performances designed specifically for her.

This episode will showcase a specially arranged medley by contestant Shreenidhi, featuring the legendary “Mere Rang Mein”, alongside touching tributes during team performances like Team Sanskaari’s musical presentation, which adds emotional richness to the evening. Contestant Jyotirmayee will also evoke nostalgia by recreating a memorable acting moment with Bhagyashree, providing a lovely throwback to her classic film era.

Profoundly touched by the contestants' heartfelt sincerity, Bhagyashree shared her gratitude and reminisced, stating, “Indian Idol has a unique way of touching hearts, and the theme of Swag vs Sanskaari adds a nostalgic dimension to the experience. Many of my songs are cherished for their innocence, tenderness, and emotional depth. Witnessing today’s contestants infuse that ‘sanskaari’ essence into their performances is truly heartwarming.” She further expressed, “It feels like reopening a cherished chapter from the past, but through voices filled with fresh emotion and sincerity. I feel fortunate to see these young talents pay homage to melodies that have been significant in my journey.”

Bhagyashree made her debut in the iconic 1989 film “Maine Pyaar Kiya” alongside Bollywood superstar Salman Khan. Following the film's success, she chose to marry her then-boyfriend, Himalay Dassani. She opted to act exclusively in films featuring Himalay as her leading man, resisting offers to work with other actors. Despite her parents' disapproval of her marriage, Bhagyashree remained steadfast in her decision and eloped with him.

The couple now has two children, Abhimanyu and Avantika. Bhagyashree is anticipated to star in Raja Shivaji, a film directed by Riteish Deshmukh, which also features Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, Genelia Deshmukh, Mahesh Manjrekar, and Fardeen Khan.

This film is set to release in May 2026.
