Chennai, Jan 5 (NationPress) The health status of renowned Tamil film director and actor Bharathiraja, who was admitted to the hospital following complaints of breathlessness, is currently stable, as reported by the hospital today.
According to a medical statement from MGM Healthcare, where the esteemed director is undergoing treatment, it was stated, "Mr. Bharathiraja was admitted with a severe lung infection and is presently receiving care in the Critical Care Unit. He is receiving all necessary treatments for organ issues and is under the vigilant supervision of our medical team."
The hospital added, "His condition is stable, and he will continue to need treatment in the Critical Care Unit."
In the meantime, prominent figures from the film industry, including directors R K Selvamani, Seeman, producer and actor Chitra Laxmanan, as well as directors Lingusamy, Ameer, A R Murugadoss, and Seenu Ramasamy, visited the veteran director at the hospital on Monday.
In a video statement, director R K Selvamani shared after visiting the veteran director's family, "We came to meet director Bharathiraja. Recently, there have been misleading reports circulating on social media and in certain news outlets regarding his health. We wanted to clarify the situation by visiting him today."
"We spoke with the doctor treating him, who informed us that director Bharathiraja is in the Intensive Care Unit. His organs are functioning well, but he experienced a bout of pneumonia. Thankfully, he is stable," the director explained.
Selvamani continued, "When we inquired about visiting director Bharathiraja, the doctor mentioned that due to the influx of visitors yesterday, his infection had worsened. Consequently, they decided to limit visitors to help reduce the infection. Currently, director Bharathiraja remains stable."
"Some individuals, either out of eagerness or ill intentions, are spreading false rumors. If you truly care for the veteran director, please pray for his recovery instead of sharing misinformation. The family or the hospital will provide accurate updates. We have spoken with all family members and the chief doctor, requesting daily medical bulletins to prevent the spread of false rumors," the director concluded.
