Mumbai, Oct 3 (NationPress) Bollywood star Bhumi Pednekar has revealed her deeper mission behind her career, highlighting how she leverages her influence to initiate social transformation and “do everything to ensure I can assist as many individuals as possible in my country.”

In an exclusive statement to IANS, the actress articulated that her endeavors extend beyond mere entertainment; they seek to shift perceptions and empower communities throughout India.

Reflecting on the recent catastrophic floods in Jammu, Bhumi noted that this tragedy reminded her of her origins and the appreciation artists owe to their supporters.

She expressed, “I recognize that my work transcends entertainment. It's about altering mindsets. It's about uplifting communities, particularly in my country. I genuinely want to do everything within my power to ensure that I can assist as many individuals as possible in my homeland.”

During her address, the ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ actress emphasized that actors, musicians, and other public figures often thrive because of the support from everyday individuals — purchasing tickets, attending events, and sharing their narratives.

Bhumia, recognized as a climate advocate, recently participated in the Milken Institute Asia Summit, 2025 in Singapore. The actress, who has consistently utilized her celebrity to spotlight social and environmental causes, reiterated that her contributions extend well beyond cinema. “Indeed, my biography mentions actress, but it also identifies me as a climate advocate. I believe that aspect of my work is equally vital,” she stated, addressing an audience that included policymakers and influential figures from across Asia.

Previously, on August 15, the actress shared insights on how her parents instilled a profound sense of patriotism in her. In a heartfelt Instagram video, Bhumi showcased her mother, who became emotional while expressing her love for the nation. In her caption, the 'Badhaai Do' actress mentioned that she wears her “nationality as a badge of honor.”

“I randomly filmed my mom during our drive to the factory, and her words resonated deeply with me. Growing up, I listened to her and my father's stories about a time when opportunities were scarce, yet their dreams for our country remained unwavering. For them, India always held the utmost importance. I have inherited my love for India from them, and I proudly wear my nationality as a badge of honor.”

On the work front, the 36-year-old actress recently appeared in the Netflix series 'The Royals', portraying Sophia, an ambitious start-up CEO. The series also starred Ishaan Khatter and Zeenat Aman in key roles.

Next, Bhumi will feature in 'Daldal', where she takes on the role of a police officer. She is also set to star in the eagerly awaited period drama 'Takht', further enriching her impressive portfolio of projects.
