Bhuvan Bam on Dhindora 2: 'I had to rewrite a lot of drafts'
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Actor and content creator Bhuvan Bam has opened up about the creative challenges behind the making of Dhindora 2, the much-awaited second season of his beloved series, which is set to premiere on Netflix in 2026. Bam revealed that bringing the season to life required rewriting multiple drafts, jokes, and storylines before the project took its final shape.
In His Own Words
Speaking about the first glimpse recently released by Netflix, Bam said, “Dhindora is extremely personal to me because these characters have grown with me and the audience over so many years. We’ve been working on Season 2 for a long time, so finally seeing the first glimpse out there feels special. It’s bigger and crazier, but still has everything people love about this world.”
He added, “I feel right now it’s in a space that resonates with my current maturity level, and it also touches upon topics that I strongly believe in. I hope it resonates with my existing audience as well as the newer audience that’s watching.”
From YouTube to Netflix
The original Dhindora first released independently on YouTube in 2021, growing out of Bam’s massively popular BB Ki Vines universe. The second season marks a significant platform leap, moving the franchise from YouTube to Netflix — a transition that reflects both the scale of the production and the growing ambition behind it. Titu Mama, one of the most iconic characters from that world, returns at the centre of the new season’s narrative.
Rohit Raj, Founder and Producer at BBKV Productions, described the journey as “an incredible” one. “Taking Dhindora from an independent YouTube series to Netflix has been an incredible journey. We wanted to make Season 2 bigger without losing the madness and familiarity that made the first one special. This glimpse is just the beginning,” he said.
Creative Team Behind the Season
Dhindora 2 is produced by Bhuvan Bam and Rohit Raj, and directed by Sneha Shetty Kohli. The project represents a major step up in production scale compared to its independently-made predecessor, with Netflix’s platform bringing wider reach to a franchise that built its fanbase organically over years of digital storytelling.
What to Expect
Bam’s comments suggest the new season is both tonally evolved and emotionally grounded, with the creator emphasising that the show now reflects his “current maturity level” and engages with subjects he “strongly believes in.” Notably, the scale-up has not come at the cost of the series’ signature irreverence — Bam described it as “bigger and crazier” while retaining the essence fans love. A premiere date beyond the broad 2026 window has not yet been announced.
