Mumbai, March 21 (NationPress) Actor Boman Irani recently took to social media to showcase how he celebrates Navroz Mubarak with his family.
In a video shared on his Instagram account, the 'Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.' star is seen enjoying this festive occasion surrounded by his loved ones, highlighting the rich traditions that accompany the Persian New Year. The touching video captures the cozy atmosphere of the gathering, where Boman and his family engage in the customs of Navroz, which include preparing special meals, offering prayers, and cherishing quality time together.
Boman expressed the importance of these rituals, emphasizing the themes of renewal, unity, and togetherness that Navroz brings into their lives. In his post, he wrote, “It’s that time of the year again—when our hearts are full, our plates are fuller, and our resolutions last exactly as long as the Pulav Daar does! #NavrozeMubarak to my family, friends, and all the amazing people I share this journey with… Here’s to a year of love, laughter, and maybe fewer calories (who am I kidding?).”
In the video, Irani can be heard stating, “Navroze is spring equinox day, we stand in front of and thank the Lord for what he has provided us, and express gratitude for what he is about to bless us with. New beginnings with family… and it's now become everyone’s Navroze.”
For those unfamiliar, Nowruz marks the start of the Persian or Iranian New Year and is celebrated in various countries globally as spring arrives in the Northern Hemisphere. In India, the Parsi community commemorates Nowruz as both a sacred and festive occasion. This year, it was celebrated on March 20.
Nowruz, also known as Navroz, occurs on the vernal equinox, a period when days begin to lengthen, generally happening around March 20. The festival is mainly celebrated in Central Asian nations, the Middle East, the Balkans, the Caucasus, and the Black Sea Basin, among other regions.
In India, the Parsi community observes Nowruz with great devotion and joy. The day is marked by visits to the Fire Temple for special prayers, followed by festive meals. Traditional dishes such as fried fish, herb rice, and special desserts are prepared as families and friends come together to celebrate.
On the work front, Boman Irani was recently seen in “The Mehta Boys,” which features Avinash Tiwary, Shreya Chaudhry, and Puja Sarup in key roles.
The show, directed by Boman himself, premiered on February 7 on Amazon Prime Video.
