Chennai, February 17 (NationPress) Elated by the news that his film ‘Thandel’, starring Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi, has crossed the ₹100 crore milestone, producer Bunny Vas, who invested heavily in this project, exclaimed, “We promised, we did it.”

Before the film's release, Bunny Vas had openly shared in an interview that this was his most significant gamble among all his productions to date. He expressed his joy over the audience's reception of the film exceeding his predictions.

On his X timeline, he posted, “We promised, we did it. #Thandel : 100+ CR gross worldwide! Blockbuster Love Tsunami.”

Previously, the producer shared a delightful video of a group of boys mimicking Sai Pallavi’s dance moves from Hilesso Hilessa at a local theater, showcasing their enjoyment.

The film premiered on February 7 this year and was directed by Chandoo Mondeti. It is based on the true story of 20 Indian fishermen from Andhra Pradesh who were apprehended by Pakistani authorities.

Producer Allu Aravind, who presented the film, provided insights into the actual events behind the story. He explained, “This true story occurred near Vizag, in a small village. Fishermen had traveled to Gujarat for a month but accidentally crossed international waters due to bad weather, leading to their capture by Pakistan officials.” He highlighted the suffering of their families and their struggle to bring them back.

'Thandel' showcased remarkable talent, with National Award-winning composer Devi Sri Prasad creating the film's music. Cinematography was handled by Shamdat, while editing was done by National Award-winner Naveen Nooli. Srinagendra Tangala oversaw the art department. Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, 'Thandel' was produced by Bunny Vas under the Geetha Arts banner, with Allu Aravind as the presenter.
