Chennai, Oct 17 (NationPress) The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has granted a U/A certificate for the much-anticipated film 'Baahubali - The Epic', directed by S S Rajamouli.

On Thursday, the film's producers announced via the official X handle, "Certified U/A. 3 Hours 44 Minutes of Pure Epicness. Jai Maahishmathi! #BaahubaliTheEpic #BaahubaliTheEpicOn31stOct."

This film, which merges both parts of the acclaimed franchise, has ignited considerable excitement among fans and cinema aficionados.

Recently, Shobu Yarlagadda, one of the producers behind the blockbuster 'Baahubali', expressed his profound gratitude towards director S S Rajamouli and his team for their unwavering dedication during the post-production of 'Baahubali - The Epic'. He noted that with Rajamouli and his crew, there’s no compromise on quality.

Yarlagadda also provided updates regarding how Rajamouli was meticulously finalizing edits for 'Baahubali - The Epic'. He mentioned, "Editing has posed significant challenges in creating this version! #BaahubaliTheEpic #BaahubaliTheEpicOnOct31st."

When a media outlet highlighted his earlier statements about the film being treated as a new release, Yarlagadda responded, "Absolutely, with @ssrajamouli and the entire team at @BaahubaliMovie, there are no shortcuts! For those who may not know, 'Baahubali - The Epic' is set to combine both segments of the remarkable 'Baahubali' franchise. The creators have opted to re-release the film to commemorate the franchise's 10-year anniversary. This special screening is scheduled for October 31 this year.

'Baahubali: The Beginning', the initial installment directed by S S Rajamouli and starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubatti, Anushka Shetty, and Tamannaah, premiered on July 10, 2015. It shattered box office records, achieving massive success.

Producer Shobu Yarlagadda was the first to hint at the film's re-release this October. He stated, "I am excited to announce an Indian and international re-release of @BaahubaliMovie this October. 'Baahubali 2', the sequel of this immensely popular franchise, was released on over 9,000 screens globally in 2017.

This film was produced on a lavish budget of Rs 250 crore and grossed an astonishing ₹1800 crores worldwide, making it the highest-grossing Indian film of all time. It is also noted for being the first Indian film to surpass the Rs 1000 crore mark in terms of box office collections. As of 2025, 'Baahubali 2' continues to hold the record for the highest-grossing film in India.

Aside from its remarkable box office success, the film received extensive critical acclaim, winning numerous awards at both national and international levels. It secured three National Awards for Best Stunt Choreography, Best Special Effects, and Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment at the 65th National Film Awards, along with the Saturn Award for Best International Film at the 44th Saturn Awards.
