Is Baahubali - The Epic Set to Release on October 31?

Chennai, July 10 (NationPress) As one of India's most magnificent blockbusters, 'Baahubali: The Beginning', celebrates its 10th anniversary on Thursday, director S S Rajamouli has revealed plans to commemorate this occasion with the release of 'Baahubali - The Epic', a two-part film that will hit theaters on October 31, 2025.

In his Instagram stories, S S Rajamouli shared, "Baahubali. The commencement of numerous journeys. Countless memories. Endless inspiration. It's been a decade. Celebrating this remarkable milestone with #BaahubaliTheEpic, a two-part film. In theaters globally on October 31, 2025."

Just days prior, producer Shobu Yarlagadda reminisced about the anxiety-filled moments preceding the film's original release.

On his X timeline, he noted, "In a few days, we will mark the 10th anniversary of @BaahubaliMovie 'The Beginning' in theaters! The lead-up to the release and the days following it were filled with tension for all of us involved in the film."

He continued, "Reflecting on some of the screenshots I saved from that time evokes a flood of memories. What were your thoughts about #Baahubali during the release of Part 1?"

Accompanying his post were tweets from film critics praising the film after its press screening in Mumbai on July 9, alongside predictions about its box office performance and the audience's excitement.

It's worth noting that Baahubali: The Beginning, the first installment of this two-part saga directed by S S Rajamouli and starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubatti, Anushka Shetty, and Tamannaah, premiered on July 10, 2015. The film shattered box office records, emerging as a colossal hit.

Producer Shobu Yarlagadda had earlier hinted at the movie's re-release in October, stating, "I am excited to share that we are planning an Indian and international re-release of @BaahubaliMovie this October. It won't merely be a re-release; it will be a celebration year for our fans! Expect nostalgia, new insights, and some epic surprises along the way. Stay tuned! #ReliveTheEpic! #BaahubaliReturns."

'Baahubali 2', the second part of this immensely popular franchise, was released in over 9,000 screens worldwide in 2017.

Produced with a lavish budget of ₹250 crore, the film grossed over ₹1800 crore globally, making it the highest-grossing Indian film ever and the first Indian film to surpass the ₹1000 crore mark. As of 2025, Baahubali 2 continues to reign as the highest-grossing film in India.

In addition to its box office success, the film received widespread critical acclaim, winning prestigious awards both nationally and internationally. It secured three National Awards for Best Stunt Choreography, Best Special Effects, and Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment at the 65th National Film Awards, along with the Saturn Award for Best International Film at the 44th Saturn Awards.
