Chennai, Sep 13 (NationPress) The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has officially granted a U/A certificate to the romantic entertainer 'Kiss', directed by dance choreographer-turned-director Satish and starring actor Kavin in the titular role, paving the way for its upcoming release.
The film's producer, Raahul from Romeo Pictures, excitedly shared the news on his X timeline, stating, "Leaving a U/A mark for y’all. #Kiss certified U/A. See you in theatres on Sep 19!"
Originally slated for a March release, the film's debut was postponed to July without a fixed date. Eventually, the makers confirmed that it will be released in theatres on September 19 this year.
'Kiss' has generated considerable buzz as it marks the directorial debut of renowned dance choreographer Satish, with actress Preeti Asrani, known for her role in the acclaimed film Ayothya, as the female lead.
The film's soundtrack is composed by independent musician Jen Martin.
In January, producer Raahul announced that filming had been completed, expressing excitement about the collaboration with Kavin and the talented crew, and sharing gratitude towards the art director, stunts coordinator, and other contributors.
The action sequences are choreographed by Peter Hein, with cinematography handled by Harish. Art direction is managed by Mohan Mahendiran, while editing is overseen by Pranav.
A teaser released earlier showcased Kavin as a character with a pronounced aversion to romance, even going as far as to shut down a shop in protest against Valentine's Day. The teaser concludes with Preeti Asrani expressing a romantic interest and inquiring about his first kiss.
This film is particularly significant for Kavin, considering his previous project, 'Bloody Beggar', directed by Sivabalan Muthukumar, did not perform well at the box office. 'Bloody Beggar' was produced by Kavin's close friend, director Nelson Dilipkumar, under Filament Pictures.
